CARMEN’S BLOG INTRO FOR YOGA

Is 50 too old to start yoga?

Only if your mind tells you so. I have a love-hate relationship with yoga. Sport athletes understand this. Yogis may not. It’s taken me a very long time to finally try it – about 8 years ago (late 40s) to be exact. When I finally did, I gave it my all. I went back a few times, trying different styles. Let’s face it, you cannot dislike something new after only one try, or can you?

Did you know yoga can change your life and enhance how you feel?

Never did I consider the tremendous benefits of yoga, from elongating your muscles to de-stressing your body and mind. Yoga, in its unhurried, deep-breathing state, is a practice unlike any other, and throw in meditation and you have a completely enlightening experience.

Discovering yoga for the first time with an open mind, heart, and spirit can open a new attitude and feeling of accomplishment.

And if you’re feeling joint pain, muscle weakness, stress and anxiety, or loss of balance, yoga can provide relief.

Yoga has so many great benefits, as you will discover after reading Molly Rasmussen’s article on “Yoga after 50. If I can try yoga, so can you.  Believe me! And if you need further convincing, read on.

Molly Rasmussen shares why she first started yoga at the young age of 14, and why it keeps her grounded. Leave a comment to tell us about your yoga experience – good or bad, or in progress.
